Jon Graber Teacher of Violin and Viola Jonathan Graber has appeared as violin or viola soloist, chamber musician, orchestral Concertmaster, and conductor throughout the United States as well as in Austria, France, and Honduras. In the United States, he has taught at two colleges and one university and has worked with many youth orchestra programs as coach or conductor. Jonathan recently concluded work as a Fulbright Scholar as a Visiting Professor at the National Autonomous University of Honduras. While in Honduras, he served as Visiting Concertmaster and appeared as soloist with that country’s national symphony. Jonathan enjoys contemporary music and has been involved in premieres of chamber works of such noted composers as John Cage and Elliot Carter. He also enjoys the scholarship of music, and in this capacity he has published articles in American Music Teacher and American String Teacher, presented papers at meetings of the Association for Technology in Music Instruction, the College Music Society, and the Society for American Music, and held a Younger Scholars Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. He holds a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston) and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Washington (Seattle) |
