Bowling Music Studio has produced many remarkable students since opening it's doors in 1981. We have encouraged students to meet their potential, aim high, and be positive about the future. Most students have continued their musical studies in college, many have received music scholarships, and all have increased their musical knowledge above and beyond what they thought possible. Students have won top prizes in all local competitions, performed concerti with regional orchestras, received special recognition at the Seattle Young Artist's Festival and have won top places in state-wide Washington State Music Teachers Association events. High school seniors have performed full length senior piano recitals. In the last few years, Bowling students have won top prizes in the Admiral Theater talent competition.
Over the last 27 years, Bowling Music Studios' high school seniors have routinely won first place in the Kitsap Music Teachers Competition. Many present day piano teachers in Kitsap county and beyond are former students of Dr. Bowling's. For the last four years, students have captured the top awards given for piano at the Bremerton Symphony Youth Competition.

I really love being with the group. They’re encouraging. It’s wonderful to see the different levels of skill and playing and the accomplishments of each of us. On the private side, I wanted to learn theory. I had been a music major, a clarinetist years and years ago. .
I really like the challenge; the goal is a piece of music. To really play it slowly, count out loud, sing with it, really get acquainted with it until the music does what its supposed to do (which is to provide beauty) is a great goal!
